Just installing the thttpd on debian 5.0.

No control panels, only the following

Debian GNU/Linux 5.0, Ubuntu 9.04, CentOS 5.3 of Fedora 10,

Now is Debian 5.0 installed (fresh install)

I got,

Hostname
ip-adrerss
username
password.

# apt-get install apache2
# /etc/init.d/apache2 start

I presume that's what you want to do, but your post isn't that clear.

okay..I will post a short info on how to install it

apt-get install gcc
wget http://acme.com/software/thttpd/thttpd-2.25b.tar.gz
tar -zxvf thttpd-2.25b.tar.gz
cd thttpd-2.25b

./configure
make
make install

to make things easy create a start/stop/restart shell
make a new file called thttpd.sh and place it /usr/local/etc/rc.d

@ nick he dont need httpd ( apache)
he needs thttpd

You need PuTTy to connect to your VPS

enter ip adress of your vps
login as root with your root password

and enter those above commands
