Best Apps for Windows

I just wiped my HDD and did a fresh install. (Windows 7) I'm looking for application recommendations. I need suggestions and opinions on which apps are the best. I tend to download the most expensive one's so I know I have the 'best' an app has to offer.

I mainly use my PC for music. But, I'm open to everything. From Anti-virus software, to video editing, to digital arts. All recommendations are excepted. Looking for those 'must have' apps.

Just did a clean install myself, that's everything i need to start with.

My Must have "Helpful" Apps are:
MediaInfo, uTorrent, VLC Media Player, winRar, Foxit PDF Reader, SmartFTP, EditPlus+, BitChe, Foobar2k
Google them.
Ofcourse the must have is: Chrome, CS6, Steam, Reason, ProTools, MSN/Skype

Added: SpeedFan, Avast Antivirus, Thunderbird Mail App.
