Advice on opening a small online shop

Hi

I am thinking of opening a small online shop of about 50 products which may expand in a year or so. It is a niche market.
I can't decide whether to go with hosting myself and getting a site built (on which platform?) or going for a hosted, build my own from a template site.

Can you guys give me some advice on what to do. I want to keep initial costs down to see how the business goes.

Thanks for any advice

You require a Magento platform for your E-commerce website. This will help you to make your website look professional and also help to promote it in various search engines. You can either hire a web developer or give the task to your web hosting company.

My recommendation..

Id go with one of those shared hosted cpanel deals (some of them are quite cheap and good) have a look around

Look at wordpress for your platform, with a good theme and then look into a eCommerce plugin such as easy digital downloads.. :)
