My friend has been working on my site with me for a while and he now wants to setup a Music forum, now I will be helping him but we can't decide weather we should setup the forum by Genre or Year?

I would definately do by Genre, for the simple reason that you will get mor etargetted visitors

My Point

Its bette rto have a section: "Electro" and then a title Album 1 (2008)

Than having a section 2008 and title Album 1 (eleectro)

It's less good IMO

I shouldnt setup a music forum.
I have one myself and it's way to difficult and gives alot of headaches.

Try something different, an appz, or an ebooks, or even movies/tv-shows!

It gives the headaches that you get when building ANY site, in my opinion he just does not want you to make one yourself because you become a direct competitor with his site

If you are motivated and know that it will take work and dedication before this is off the ground then go aheead and build a community, else don't even bother.
