Scopehosts big downtime and DDOS on shared & reseller hosting

Like in topic, they write something like this on their "support" forum:

We had to take all our shared & reseller hosting servers for major upgradation. As latest exploit had been released on the present kernel and we had a pending cpanel updation schedule.

Both the features are being updated along with latest version of apache , php and other modules .

As its a necessary updation.

Maintenance might time period of 12-24hours . We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to all clients.

Suitable Compensation will be provided to all clients .

Out of 5 Shared And Reseller Hosting Servers . 4 Of them Are Over . The Server with IP: 89.149.244.xxx Is having issue of Heavy DDOS attack while the maintenance is in progress . We Have controlled 50% off the attack within 12hours now . Presently we are seeking help of Datacenter Network Team resolve this issue completely as soon as possible. So that service resume smoothly as before.

We assure all clients of this particular server to get best of the compensation from us. As this is the 1st major downtime of this server .

We will be keep on Updating all clients regarding this issue at this thread.

My sites are down from 3 days and they dosent write me any sensible answers ... Do you think that I should change hosting or wait another "x" days ? :O

Oh yeah. Every host should upgrade. The issue they want to have sorted is the issue that ALL hosts should have sorted already (but didn't, well apart from a few I know).

So when you see this post, please update your server or get owned by a script kiddie very soon.
 
Things happen unexpectedly to every host, so since Scopehosts has had DDoS attack, surely it will take time to mitigate it. But i think they are taking a bit longer than normal.

Yeah I think that too, I have friend and he has very big warez site in Poland, his site was attacked so many times but even strongest DDoS attack he has doesn't take much time then 2 - 3 days.

Yup that's true. Our servers were DDoSed too, we were back within 12 hours and backups restored in 2-3 hours. Also protection against strong DDoS attacks is really necessary, as I have realized.
 
Here's what the owner says:
"At Max it as recovered With 95% now. All Clients Sites are loading with an average speed of 5-8 secs .. .We are cleaning the Ip`s which caused the issues ."

They surely aren't running away, so you can get support via: MSN, Yahoo or Live support.

Still nothing, 4 days of downtime, my sites average speed is 20s to "not looding" speed :/ , 2 tickets subbmited no response :facepalm:

I feel for you man, I almost lost ALL of my website data a few months back, not once but twice. I've learned my lesson, keep 3 copies of your backup, in 3 different locations.

Can't trust any webhost 100%, respectable or not, shit happens, harddrives die, datacenters pull servers, or webhosts just run away. I'm ready for anything.

Yeah thats right man, I had a copy of my site but it was old copy from 12 june, fortunately I was able to login into Cpanel and I generate new backup and finally move my site to other host. : )
 
My account has been Suspended after purchase was 7 days ( plan 1 year ), i just builded my site, I do not understand why and sent a message to them to get the data but do not have any feedback, no live chat, no email support X-(
