Yes, exactly. I believe other social networks (not only meta) want to eliminate tiktok too because tiktok is eating their lunch. When you are the top of your game, you will have lot of enemies that wanted to eliminate you, they will be watching your every moves, things you do or say and they will also try to put you into temptation. When you break any law or make any mistake, they will use it as a weapon against you. Tiktok has one already which being owned by chinese company.
Content moderation was also part of the Tiktok congressional hearing. It will probably force tiktok to take action and it will affect all types of content.
They are all protecting their interest. They are just using it as a weapon against eachother. Your content maybe deleted to avoid court issues.
I believe that these type of contents is part of what make tiktok became popular back then. Around 2020,2021 & 2022, I saw some popular & well-known news media complaining about spicy contents, minors and addiction on Tiktok. I believe that is why tiktok went full strict mode because those news went viral then. Tiktok has now very strict limit on those type of content.
Yes, there are people who try to find where "the line" is with that sort of content and walk right up to it, similar to what you see on Twitch for example. But the difference here is, again, Tiktok is CCP controlled. They are very strict with this sort of stuff and always have been. Adult content is very illegal in China. And not in a "they'll give you a small fine or slap on the wrist" kinda way. So yes, there are cat and mouse games being played with thirst trap content, but suggesting anything that came out of those hearings has had any influence on this is ignoring the fact that China doesn't want that type of content on Tiktok even more than the most anti adult content politicians in Washington.
Haha yeah, TikTok’s algorithm definitely has its blind spots but it’s more about how people frame the content than outright bypassing the rules.
A lot of creators are using soft promotion, coded language, and funneling through “innocent-looking” content to redirect traffic off-platform. But keep in mind, TikTok’s moderation is getting smarter (and the Karens louder), so it’s a risky game if you’re pushing adult-related stuff.
If you play it right though with subtlety and the right funnel there’s definitely money to be made.

Making them click a link to a different site in hopes they click another link to go to the site you want is FUCKING HELL !
