What Is DNS Resolver?

Hello All,

I Have Baught A New VPS Of 1 IP. I Got Some Info With It Where written that
DNS resolver 1: xx.xx.x.x(ip)
DNS resolver 2:xx.x.x.x(ip)

i am going to install cpanel on it. please tell me what is the use of these dns resolvers.
should i point my domains nameserver to these ip? or what else

Don't trust Google or you want more public DNS servers?

Here is a decent list of public DNS servers:

For my VPS systems I generally prefer to use the hosts' local DNS to resolve as my primary DNS server, then I just use the two google public dns servers for secondary and tertiary dns servers.
