Hello,

Firstly, i am sorry for your loss with Vine Servers. Many of you may have lost traffic, many of you may have lost money and most of you lost your backups and files. VineServers.Com was a reseller of Shine Servers. Vineservers issues started after 13th of July when they exceeded their 3rd overdue invoice, so forcefully we needed to suspend the website so as all your accounts too. It's been over 9 days after due date and owner still not in a mood for payment, so today morning our cron jobs did all the job and company & all the websites associated has been terminated and taken down.

You people paid for your hosting plans maybe some of you paid in advance as well but due to lack of response of company's owner you faced all the issues.

Anyways, you have 2 choices now with us :

1. We have backups for most of the sites (Not all) so if anyone of you need backup just show me OWNERSHIP proof of your domain and i'll get you the account backup.

2. Move to Shine Servers, show me the proof of your payment to vineservers maybe the email of invoice till the date you paid and we'll keep you up till then for free afterwards you can continue with us at same price of Vine Servers you had.

Kindly email me any of your choices from above at bharat@shineservers.com and i'll see what i can do.

NOTE : Remember we don't have backups for every website so i can't promise that i will provide backups. But we have most of the backups so just email me i'll see what we have in our inventory.

Have a wonderful day.

Regards
Bharat

Just talked with 'em, They're moving to a new powerful server, so let it happen, The site will be back soon...(y)

I thought they were shifting to a new node. [:P]
Stupid clients, They believed him even after seeing his Mainsite Suspended. Not Offline, But Suspended.
EPIC [pokerface]
I hope the clients are able to get their backups, That's the main thing. They can buy the service from anywhere.

 Wait for my thread  And guys yes move to shineservers, refused to give me backups but now i know why! Well done bharat well done!

Thanks! Services are always go as you pay.

Good way to attract your reseller's clients, how anyone will trust in you? if you can kick your reseller, and try to attract his clients in this way, tomorrow maybe you will kick your client also?

You are his mentor ? If not then better stay away if you are not associated with Vine Servers. We are not in state of argument, about the customers there is always the option 1 for there backup's and for ChemicalX, Shine Servers don't serve for free.

PS : Commenting off-topic is also a sign for marketing or attracting visitors so better get a professional team who can do that in your favour.

Unfortunately Bharat,

In this case, you're moving forward and giving backups to third parties, instead of your customer. Your customer was reseller one (VineServers) and you're only able to provide the backups to him, not anyone else. So I hope you understand in what situation you're putting you into, because this is not dedicated servers reselling so you can avoid the reseller, but this is direct service provided by ShineServers. You may see it as the best solution to the VineServer's customers, but that's putting your business at risk, because this means that there's nothing that can stop you from giving backups from other customers of yours to someone else.

None business was built on trust, but on reputation. You can loose your reputation pretty quickly by continuing this "campaign".

Backups are been served on Ownership basis its not that we providing backups to anyone who just email me asking for it. For the proof we set an parameter, so that while asking for backups customer should attach a copy of domain ownership and a Vineservers invoice which will easily authenticate the user. In this senario there is nothing to do with our existing customers. I posted this thread only for the needy so i really hope that only effected people comments out here.

I guess am clear enough now.

You're still not getting it. Ownership or not, you're legally not able to provide them backups, because owner of all files hosted from Vine's resellers are their, it's up to them to decide whether to provide their customers backup or no, not yours, because you have no any connection with them (customers of Vines), only VineServers does. Hell, if Vineservers decides not to provide them backups if they have it, that's still their decision (bad one). You can't take action simply because it means that you're violating Privacy Policy and providing your customer's data (VineServers in this case) to third party without authorization.

I would like to tell you that Vine Servers is not our customer or Reseller anymore. His Reseller account + Customers site all has been terminated and was on suspension since last 8 days. The customers who faced due to this are only been served by Shine Servers team. We are providing there all hardwork back so that they don't need to start from scratch. We are in this business since years so i know whats the meaning of loss. I appreciate your concern towards our company reputation but we are now way beyond that. Customers trust builds it and i guess on WJ i don't need to show-off or care about where our company stand.

Hope you understand.

100% Agree.

Maybe VineServers it's not your customer anymore, but you're still doing it illegal. Customers faced due Vine Servers account termination can only be served by Vine Servers, no other party, even Shine Servers can't be involved. You're violating basic Privacy to your customers by providing sensitive data to third parties.

If this was done couple months ago, I would act the same, but that can only get you in trouble. Similar thing get me in trouble, so this is just suggestion. You can take it serious or no, that's up to you, but you need to understand that there's possibility to face charges for your actions if Vine Servers decided to proceed with filing legal inquiry against ShineServers and that may cost you much more than it needs to.

Example: You provide backup to Vine Servers customer, vine sues you because providing sensitive data to third parties, which generates them revenue. They can even say that revenue is $5,000 monthly from the data you've provided to third-party, they will not be required to prove it because you will be already guilty and you will have to pay damages the court decides (which will most probably will be the one Vine stated, or similar one). And one thing, fines for violating privacy goes from $1,000 to $250,000. So be careful.

One thing I've didn't saw in this thread before now (because I didn't pay attention) is that you're also doing another thing called monopoly. You're refusing to provide backup to your customer, while you're publicly calling all of his customers to ShineServers. You will probably say "they have choice to get only backup, they're not required to use our services", but that's irrelevant. You're trying to give an image (true or false, not mine to decide) that ShineServers are helpful, while they're indirectly violating their direct customer Privacy. This is just another thing which will be easy to prove and convince someone that's exact point of this thread (which may not be).

So my suggestion is to either do your business clean from both legal and moral position ;)
