i want it to look similar to wj but for IPB..

To display latest posts like that here is what you can do:

1. In your ACP make sure you have similiar setting as below:
[SLIDE]http://i.imgur.com/PCspK.png[/SLIDE]
2. If you need latest topic to be displayed you can use "Recent Topics " hook you will find in
Applications & Modules > Manage Hooks

3. If you need only latest posts here is a hook (Not tested ) http://community.invisionpower.com/files/file/4548-hsc33-recent-posts-sidebar-block/

You want to move the latest posts from the sidebar and post it next to the shoutbox? What about the rest of the sidebar? Does it stay under the shoutbox on the board index? Do you want latest posts to always show on every page?
