Well due to so many fake movies being posted. I've thought about closing Freshwap's registrations. Because once you ban one or a few of them. They just join back with a different IP. SO the only option is to make it an Invite Only, or close registration.

If you have any other suggestions post here.

Sorry to hear that.

I think you should review it when publish. Don't close now, let me register an account. I don't upload fake movies because all the screenshots are taken myself from the original file :)
 
i say you must close the registrations for a while,make it invite but un-registered users must be able to view the post OR people who want to post must fill an application,just like they do on private trackers
 
make it invite based. It will be exciting stuff(not much tried with forums as u know). Limit the number of invite to 1 which every member would get after every 1 month. SO in all u would get members & u would be safe from fake movie poster. The person who invites other user who post fakes can be warned/banned
 
You asked me on MSN yesterday and I wasn't sure what the best idea was. I've though about it and here's what I'd do.

First install an invitation system. Rename the existing members group to Posters or Advanced Members or something similar and keep their permissions. All new members are put into a new group called Members or similar. The people in this group can only reply to topics, report threads, and create topics in the community areas, basically everything a Advanced Member can do except make a topic in the Downloads Area. To get into the Posters group and be allowed to create download topics they have to be invited by an existing poster.

Here's why I think this will work well. Registrations aren't closed and people can still reply to topics and participate in the community areas. No existing Poster will invite a Member to the Poster Group unless they can see they are active in the site replying to topics, engaging in conversations etc all stuff a bot can't do. This will really encourage Members to be active in the hope of finding someone among the posters to invite them. By Members being able to participate it's easy to get friendly with Posters too and get an invite as it can be hard to get an invite from a site that's closed like a private tracker. You can even run stuff like the Member who reports the most fake downloads or dead links each month get's promoted to Poster. Possibilities are endless. Great thing is your improving the quality of downloads by remove all the fakes and forcing people to be more active at the same time.
 
Its better than thousand of threads.And i believe multiposters do not reply in existing threads right?That means they will become active.

You can easliy prevent that. If the reply (from a certain member group) contains download links it's not accepted. That's easy to add.

can you fix this issue

on freshwap you have allowed hosters and
banned hosters

when I try to post allowed hosters I am still getting this message
(even when I try single fileserve link)

The post contains file host links which are banned and not allowed on this site. Please remove them or upload the file or another file host.

It's probably an image. They have had to ban some image hosts I think like Warez-BB. If you just keep removing parts of the post till it accepts it you'll find the part that's not allowed. It doesn't just have to be a link. (I coded that mod so know how it works)
