AdminCp redirects back to forum index

[robo-cop]

After going to my admin log in page and entering my information and clicking log in i get redirected back to my forum main page. I was advised to check the admin folder on my site for the htaccess file but there is none there. So any help and ideas would be appreciated. thanks
