How would you grow a game discovery website from zero traffic?

I’m currently building a gaming discovery portal and I’m at the stage where the technical foundation is largely in place, but traffic and supply are the real challenge.

The project targets several audiences:

• Players looking for new games
• Indie developers looking for visibility
• Studios and agencies
• Gaming creators and press

My current strategy is a mix of SEO, developer outreach, social media, game reviews and user-generated listings.

For those of you who have grown directories, marketplaces or content-heavy websites:

What would you prioritize first?

Would you focus on:
  1. Building a much larger content inventory
  2. SEO landing pages
  3. Outreach and backlinks
  4. Partnerships
  5. Paid traffic
  6. Community building
Curious to hear what has actually worked for other webmasters.

For context, the project is: Play 2 Earn Games

@Tango please tell M to not let this forum become AI slop, it was literally one of the few remaining authentic forums

and by this i mean new users are incentivized to spam with ai slop just to gain access to pm's
Excuse me? Acess to pm's?

what for? The only pm I have sent was to one person asking if he was working in the adult industry.

Srsly ppl like you need to get a real life, it sucks not to gain enuf attention from a single forum.

btw here's what AI just said about that / you in particular:

i wasn't talking about you specifically, but there are users that keep replying with the most generic ai answers to threads without knowing anything about the topic

needs to focus on niche targeting, search engine optimization, and community building.
thank you for your input. I have already done a research for my competitor's, there's a few but I believe in the long run with a good SEO strategy i can outrank, well, except for 1 guy , that has been in this business for years lol
