Humm, looks like today's viewership is going to be highest since the beginning of September. Definitely not top, but maybe there is a glimpse of hope that increase will be bigger in the next days? Then I would say other hosts should also take notes. Let's hope it holds like this.
Well of course that didn't last long... Banner or other view drops reason is always an excuse and it always of course happens in your disadvantage, then give you one good day and then your earnings quietly fade out again. What a classic scammery.

I agree. For example, when Lulustream installs new storage servers or whatever, they lower the view counts to cover the installation costs and the monthly upkeep of these new servers. They just chose to stop doing support so they don't have to answer people who complain.

Other hosts do the exact same thing and just say they "are looking into it", that it's "the devs' fault", or that there's "an issue with the ad network". Some even pretend to sell the platform or shut it down and launch a new one as soon as legal action approaches.

After all, in a way it makes sense: it's still a business, so obviously they want to keep as much money as possible, and it's the users who pay the price.

you're leaving out a key fact: (basically) everybody uses an adblocker, and google pushed lots of users away from Adblock Plus and AdBlock to Brave/uBlock Origin and AdGuard (when blocking ABP/AdBlock users from YouTube unless they disabled the ad blocker) which block ads more efficiently and proactively block anti-adblock walls. This means that for many hosts a huge chunk of ad revenue not only does not bring them any money, but they also pay for that junk traffic. What's worse is that users now expect 1080p streaming with literally 0 ads and 0 payment.

I agree that adblockers and the ones in Brave / uBlock Origin now represent a big part of the traffic, but let’s be honest, no host really pays them to the user. Even if some display them as paid, in reality they aren’t paid, it’s just that our views are reduced proportionally. They have no trouble detecting adblock, I’ve already seen double or even triple adblock verification systems at different moments of the video.

So adblockers aren’t really a problem.

From what I’ve seen there are several models:

  • Either they try to detect adblock and don’t pay it, with a line in the dashboard
  • Or they set a number x, which would be the percentage of people with adblock, and reduce views proportionally
  • Or a mix of both to cover the days when adblockers change
So the fact that when there’s new hardware or that adblock isn’t paid doesn’t bother me.

But what bothers me a bit is when there’s a problem, unintentional view counting or a banner or a script that counts wrong, or when ads were planned for 8 and they put 12-15 or even more and we get no boost or increase (the 10% increases or the x2 boosts over 5-10h never cover the losses).

Anyway the real problem is that after several months of being open, they do the bare minimum for users and often screw them over, because they know people are too lazy to switch hosts.

ublock origin (used by Brave) and adguard block/bypass antiadblock walls, mostly case by case

Detecting them is pretty easy, but blocking them is a constant battle.
And like I said, worst case they consider 25% of the traffic comes from adblock and lower the views by 25%. I’m not worried about the hosts, from what I see they always land on their feet.

Exactly. Also it doesn't make sense that some hosts views are always 4x-5x lower than some other hosts who are willing to at least pay you to some kind of decent levels.

The truth is: Everyone cuts your views, but some hosts, like Lulustream and some other friends, are EXTREMELY greedy and shaving you to extreme levels.
